GID International B.V. is a worldwide operating procurement and purchasing; and project management firm -established in 1988- with its headquarters based in the Netherlands.

GID has gained long-standing experience and worldwide reputation in the implementation of international procurement and project management in a broad variety of sectors. Major clients of GID include bi- and multilateral donor organizations and private sector clients, among which multinationals and international contracting companies.

In order to offer a full range of procurement (advisory) services, GID has the in-house availability of project and procurement managers, contract lawyers, legislation experts, procurement trainers, engineering staff and financial experts. They are fully familiar with rules, regulations and guidelines applied by different donor organisations. GID is a service provider and not an equipment supplier. This guarantees our neutral position.

GID is Cofounder of the Netherlands Platform for Public Procurement (NPPP), the Federation of Procurement Specialist Organisations (FEDPRO) and member of the Dutch Association of Purchasing Management (NEVI).

Management

Since 2001 GID is managed by Mr Erik Koenen. Besides management he is one of our key experts for short-term assignments. Herewith he keeps his practical knowledge up-to-date. He started to build his experience since 1990.

As Procurement Manager/Procurement Specialist specialised in the implementation of procurement projects, the set-up of procurement offices, the preparation of standard documents, review of procurement processes, management of special funds and providing training and supervision on procurement. Specialist in all aspects of the procurement cycle, amongst others, the preparation of invitation for bids, tender documents for works, goods and services and contract administration.

As Project Director/Project Manager defining tasks and responsibilities for team members in projects. Promoting changes bottom-up based on a limited set of rules defined at the top. Applying a personal and open door policy within teams. Secondly applying the same approach towards beneficiaries (clients of the internal organisation). Strict monitoring of deadlines of activities to be implemented by internal and external project participants.

Experienced in projects in Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe. Experienced in projects for World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, African and Asian Development Bank, Dutch Ministry of Development Co-operation, Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and European Commission projects (Phare, Tacis, Obnova, Meda, EDF).
